Product Description
Product Overview

The Flyin EL-YS501U is a WUXGA laser short-throw projector designed for classrooms, meeting rooms, training spaces and business presentation environments where installation depth is limited. Its 0.44:1 throw ratio supports a 55 to 130 inch image, helping place the projector closer to the screen while keeping the presentation area open for speakers and participants. Brightness is specified at 5,000 lumens on the ISO 21118 basis, with 4,500 lumens listed as the minimum figure and 80% minimum brightness uniformity.

Key Features and Buyer Benefits
  • 5,000 lumens specified on the ISO 21118 basis, with a 4,500-lumen minimum figure for clearer project planning

  • 0.44:1 short-throw lens supporting image sizes from 55 to 130 inches
  • Laser light source rated for 20,000 hours in normal mode and 30,000 hours in ECO 1 or ECO 2 mode
  • Manual-focus lens with F1.6 aperture and 6.39 mm focal length

  • 360-degree projection and automatic ceiling-image orientation for flexible mounting
  • Two HDMI inputs plus VGA, video, USB, display-network, audio and wired-control connections
  • Built-in 16 W speaker for presentations and everyday room audio
  • Crestron RoomView, AMX Discovery and PJLink support for integration into room-control systems
Short Throw for Space-Conscious Rooms

A short-throw projector reduces the distance needed between the lens and the screen. With a 0.44:1 throw ratio and a specified screen range of 55 to 130 inches, the EL-YS501U is suited to rooms where a conventional projector would need to sit too far back. The shorter placement can also help reduce obstruction in front of the lens. Because the source table does not provide a distance chart for each screen size, send us the required image size and available projection distance so the installation can be checked before ordering.

WUXGA Detail with ISO-Specified Brightness

The native WUXGA format uses a 16:10 aspect ratio, making the projector suitable for spreadsheets, teaching materials, presentation slides and other content that benefits from additional vertical workspace. It also accepts computer signals up to 4K@30Hz and scales them to the native WUXGA panel; the 4K value describes input compatibility, not the panel resolution. Brightness is specified at 5,000 lumens under ISO 21118, with 4,500 lumens as the minimum figure. The listed minimum uniformity is 80%, supporting more consistent brightness across the image.

Installation and Geometry Control

The EL-YS501U supports vertical and horizontal keystone correction of ±15°. For more complex surfaces and off-axis placement, it adds 4-corner and 6-corner geometry adjustment, grid image tuning, and pincushion/barrel correction. These digital tools help fine-tune the image after mounting, while correct optical placement should still be planned wherever possible. The projector also supports 360-degree projection, automatic ceiling orientation and digital zoom from 1 to 19. The body measures 390 x 319 x 144 mm including the lens protrusion and has a net weight of 5.5 kg.

Connectivity and Room Control

Two HDMI inputs allow two digital sources to remain connected. Additional connections include VGA input and output, video input, 3.5 mm audio input, RCA left/right audio input, 3.5 mm audio output, USB-A, USB-B for display, RJ45 for display, RS-232C and a separate RJ45 control port. The two RJ45 connections serve different purposes: one is listed for display and the other for control. Crestron RoomView, AMX Discovery and PJLink are supported for networked room management. Wireless display is optional and should be confirmed with the required configuration before ordering.

Laser Operation, Sound and Maintenance

The laser light source is rated for 20,000 hours in normal mode and 30,000 hours in either ECO mode. These are light-source life ratings rather than warranty periods. Operating noise is specified at 37 dB in normal mode, 30 dB in ECO 1 and 28 dB in ECO 2. Maximum power consumption is 290 W in normal mode, 190 W in ECO 1 and 170 W in ECO 2, while ECO standby is below 0.5 W. A 16 W built-in speaker supports everyday presentation audio. The projector uses an air filter rated for 7,000 hours, and the listed cooling time after shutdown is about 5 seconds.

Operating Environment and Package Contents

The specified operating range is 0 to 40 degrees Celsius at 20% to 80% relative humidity and an altitude of 0 to 3,000 m. Storage conditions are listed at minus 10 to 50 degrees Celsius and 10% to 85% relative humidity. Standard accessories include a power cord, remote control and remote-control battery. The on-screen display supports 26 languages, while the printed manual is available in Chinese and English.

Configuration Note

Lens fit, screen size, projection distance, mounting position and optional wireless display should be confirmed for each project. Send us the screen requirement, room dimensions, source devices and control-system needs before ordering so the final configuration can be checked against the installation plan.
