Product Description
Product Overview

The FLY-LS20KF is the flagship of the 3LCD laser range: 20,000 lumens at WUXGA 1920*1200, housed in the same 600 * 218 * 503 mm chassis as the two models below it. That is the core advantage — 20,000 lumens at approximately 28.5 kg and 35 dB, with no larger case, no heavier bracket and no additional acoustic treatment required.

The lens is 1.3–3.02:1 with 2.3* zoom, and keystone correction is H ±50° against V ±30°.

Key Features & Benefits
  • 20,000 lumens measured by the ISO/IEC 21118:2012 average method specified on the datasheet — quoted exactly as the source labels it, without inflating it to a peak figure.
  • 20,000 lumens in a 28.5 kg body — the highest output this chassis carries, so brackets and flight cases from the smaller models stay in service.
  • Three LCD panels — colour and white light share one optical path, so saturated content keeps its brightness instead of losing it to a colour wheel.
  • Native WUXGA 1920*1200 in 16:10 with 4:3 compatibility — no crop, no scaling.
  • 3,000,000:1 contrast and 90% uniformity — the uniformity figure keeps a large screen evenly lit out to the corners.
  • 1.3–3.02:1 lens with 2.3* zoom — one optic covers both a short hall and a long room.
  • Keystone H ±50° and V ±30° — horizontal correction is larger than vertical, the opposite of the usual split, which is what allows an off-centre mount.
  • Extensive connectivity — HDBaseT, DVI-D, HDMI 1.4 with HDCP, 15-pin Mini D-sub, RJ45 LAN, RS232, USB-A/USB-B, plus HDMI and D-sub outputs and 3D-Sync.
One Chassis, Three Power Steps

The LS range is built on a single housing, and this model is its ceiling. All three models measure 600 * 218 * 503 mm, weigh approximately 28.5 kg and run at 35 dB in normal mode and 33 dB in eco, with the same lens, keystone range and port set.

What separates them is the drive: 700 W, 850 W and 1,050 W in normal mode, with eco at 650 W, 750 W and 850 W. The step up to 20,000 lumens is electrical, not structural — allow for the circuit and the heat load, and the mounting plan does not change.

What 20,000 Lumens Buys in a Real Room

Output at this level is not about a bigger number on a datasheet. It buys three things:

  • Screen size — brightness per square metre falls as the image grows.
  • Ambient light — a room that cannot be darkened (a glazed foyer, a hall with house lights up, a stand under rig lighting) needs headroom before the image reads clearly.
  • Throw distance — a long throw spreads the same light over a greater distance.
3LCD, And Where The Light Goes

A single-chip DLP engine sends white light through a spinning colour wheel and uses one primary at a time, so a saturated frame is dimmer than a white one. Three LCD panels do not sequence colour: the beam is split once into red, green and blue, each panel is driven by its own channel, and the prism recombines them.

Colour brightness therefore follows white brightness, and the image stays temporally stable — exactly what a camera pointed at the screen needs.

Alignment, Keystone And The Off-Centre Mount

The keystone split decides whether a room is installable: ±50° horizontal, ±30° vertical. Horizontal correction is usually the smaller of the two; this body inverts that. Where the wall will not take a mount on the screen centreline — stone, glass, a listed facade — the body can be moved aside and the geometry squared up.

Keystone remains a software correction, so keep the lens as close to correct as the structure allows.

Connectivity And Control

Inputs are DVI-D, HDMI 1.4 with HDCP, a 15-pin Mini D-sub, HDBaseT, RJ45 for LAN control, RS232 on D-sub 9, a 3.5 mm wired remote jack, USB-A and USB-B. HDBaseT carries video and control over a single Cat run.

The HDMI 1.4 output is often missing at this level: it feeds a confidence monitor or a second display with no outboard splitter, and a D-sub output plus 3D-Sync complete the panel.

Electrical And Thermal Budget
Power Supply 100–240 V AC, ±10%, 50 or 60 Hz
Power Consumption (Normal) 1,050 W
Power Consumption (Eco) 850 W
Standby Power Under 0.5 W
Operating Temperature 5 to 40 °C
Operating Humidity 10 to 85% (0 to 2,500 m)
High Altitude Mode Required above 1,500 m
Housing Moulded plastic, 600 * 218 * 503 mm, approx. 28.5 kg

This is the highest draw in the range, so size the circuit and cooling accordingly. The datasheet warns that above 1,500 m, ambient temperature past 35 °C can shorten optical component life.
