Product Description
Product Overview

The FL-L1700U is the dual-colour laser step in the L Series: 17,000 ANSI lumens, with a 16,000 lumen minimum, driving an RGB three-colour phosphor wheel and a colour wheel from a blue and red (B+R) dual-colour laser light source. That change expands colour coverage to more than 115% of REC.709, while the chassis stays at 600 x 590 x 210 mm and 35 kg on a 1,200 W draw. Dynamic contrast is 5,000,000:1 and JBMA uniformity is above 90% across the 0.8 inch DMD at native WUXGA 1920x1200 in 16:10. The connection set remains the complete broadcast and staging package: 3G-SDI, LC optical fibre, 500 m HDBaseT, DVI-I, DisplayPort and two HDMI 2.0 inputs.

Key Features & Benefits
  • 17,000 ANSI lumens with a 16,000 lumen minimum published alongside — tender specs look at the floor rather than the headline.
  • Blue and red (B+R) dual-colour laser light source with an RGB phosphor wheel and colour wheel — covers more than 115% of REC.709 for deeper reds and clean primaries.
  • 0.8 inch DMD at native WUXGA 1920x1200 in 16:10 — a single DLP chip, in the panel format matched to all L Series optics.
  • 5,000,000:1 dynamic contrast and JBMA uniformity above 90% — brightness holds out to the edges across a 600 inch screen.
  • 1.19-2.15:1 standard lens with 1.6x zoom covering 70 to 600 inches, plus 0.52:1, 0.56:1, 4.4-7.0:1 and 4.7-7.9:1 options for very short or long throws.
  • Motorised zoom, focus and lens shift with vertical ±50% and horizontal ±15% — adjust from the console rather than a cherry picker.
  • ±30° keystone on horizontal and vertical axes plus four-corner geometry correction — align the image in software before locking the bracket.
  • Full staging I/O built in: 3G-SDI, LC optical fibre, 500 m HDBaseT, DVI-I, DisplayPort and two HDMI 2.0 inputs.
The Dual-Colour Laser Engine

Where the entry model uses a single blue laser, the FL-L1700U adds a dedicated red laser diode bank (B+R). Red is traditionally the difficult primary in phosphor-wheel projectors; adding native red laser light pushes colour reproduction past 115% of the REC.709 standard. For broadcast feeds, live theatre skin tones, corporate brand identities and museum exhibits, saturated colours remain rich even at 17,000 ANSI lumens, without losing peak white.

Four Lenses, 70 to 600 Inch

The standard 1.19-2.15:1 lens covers the vast majority of auditorium throws with its 1.6x zoom. The 0.52:1 and 0.56:1 short-throw options allow large pictures with the projector close to the screen wall, while the 4.4-7.0:1 and 4.7-7.9:1 telephoto options shoot across vast halls and arenas. All lenses fit the same bayonet mount with full motorised focus, zoom and shift. Send the screen width and throw distance to confirm the right optic before dispatch.

Broadcast & Staging Infrastructure

The I/O layout handles direct feeds from professional production hardware without outboard converters. 3G-SDI accepts camera and switcher feeds directly. The LC optical fibre terminal transmits uncompressed video over extreme distances from remote server rooms, while HDBaseT handles combined video and control signals over Cat cabling up to 500 metres. Dedicated DVI-I and DisplayPort ports connect installed media servers, leaving the two HDMI 2.0 inputs open for local presentation laptops. Auxiliary outputs include 3D SYNC, VGA, analog audio, RS232 and RJ45 LAN.

Power & Installation

Rated at 1,200 W (±10%) in high brightness mode and under 0.5 W on standby, the unit draws only 40 W more than the 15,000 lumen model despite the dual laser engine and extra 2,000 lumens. Laser lifespan is rated at 15,000 hours in standard mode and 20,000 hours in eco mode. The 600 x 590 x 210 mm chassis weighs 35 kg in a coated plastic and sheet-metal housing. The centred lens layout aligns directly with the screen centre line for predictable rigging.

In the Box

A remote control, regional AC power cord, HDMI cable, user manual, universal quick start guide, certificate of conformity, warranty card and an eco-friendly carton.

Send us your screen dimensions, throw distance and signal source requirements, and we will verify lens selection and port allocation before ordering.

The interactive exhibits at the science museum use this 12,000-lumen 3LCD projector. Even on a 300-inch projection wall, the images remain vibrant with no vignetting, and the animations of dynamic exhibits are smooth and ghosting-free. Visitors don't experience eye strain even after prolonged viewing. The most impressive feature is the laser light source. We've been running it for 12 hours a day for over a month without any brightness decay. It's incredibly easy to turn on and off without warm-up, making setup extremely convenient. Initially, we were worried about heat dissipation with such high brightness, but in practice, the projector's temperature remains stable, and the noise level is low, completely unaffected by the explanations or interactive atmosphere of the exhibits.

With its high lumen output, no need for light blocking during the day; image brightness and contrast are consistently excellent, and installation and setup are incredibly hassle-free.
