Product Description

Fisheye projector lens for dome and spherical projection.

Product Overview

The PD08NJ35 is a 176° fisheye lens for dome projection. It images on the inside of the sphere, so one unit covers a hemisphere and a rig covers a full sphere. Everything in the design serves that — a 3.53 mm fixed focal length at F/1.8, a 10.19 mm image circle matched to 0.8 and 0.96 inch DLP panels, and a barrel that rotates and focuses by hand. There is no zoom and no throw-ratio figure: on a dome the projection distance is set by the radius of the sphere and the size of the aperture, not by the lens alone.

Focus runs from 100 mm to infinity, so one lens covers domes of different sizes.

Key Features & Benefits

  • 176° field of view — one projector covers the inside of a hemisphere; paired units cover a full sphere
  • 3.53 mm effective focal length at F/1.8 — the very short focal length is what produces 176°, and the aperture holds brightness out toward the dome edge
  • 10.19 mm image circle on 0.8 / 0.96 inch DLP panels in 16:10, at a 184° vertical projection angle
  • Manual focus from 100 mm to infinity, plus barrel rotation — focus to the dome radius and clock the image to the aperture
  • Telecentric design, -1% distortion — straight lines stay straight where the image wraps toward the dome edge
  • Rated for projectors up to 20,000 lm, in a metal barrel with all-glass elements

Compatibility is model-specific. Send us your projector model and we will confirm the lens before you order.
